Service Rates

Onsite service is billed at $60 per hour and includes drive time, minimum 1 hour. For return trips, we will not charge drive time, only the time spent at your location.

Repairs performed at our facility are generally billed at $60 per hour. This may vary according to the repair. We prefer to do all repairs in our workshop. You may ship us your printers or drop them off. If shipping, please pack them with plenty of padding to prevent shipping damage. Call us if you have questions.

Warranties

We take great pride in offering high quality refurbished and new printing products. All warranty work is performed by Printertechs.com, Inc. or a third party authorized to work on our behalf. Please contact us if you think your product is defective. Frequently improper setup or mis-configuration is the reason items fail to work properly.

Unless otherwise stated, warranty lengths are as follows:

Refurbished printers:

6 months

Refurbished 9000 fusers and 4200 fusers (plastic sleeve version).

90 days

All other refurbished fusing assemblies and maintenance kits, except where noted.

Refurbished accessories

90 days

New products are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

Warranties cover defective parts and workmanship, not normal wear and tear. Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse of the product, defective toner cartridges, media that the printer was not designed to use, any attempts to repair, alter, or modify the product without our approval, or damage caused by connected equipment. Warranties are void if quality control stickers are removed or altered.

Shipping Damage

We package everything and we ship very carefully. Please notify us immediately if you suspect shipping damage. If shipping damage is significant, we will file a claim with the carrier. Please keep the boxes and shipping materials for the carrier to inspect. We will arrange for a replacement product to be sent.

Return Policies

All returns must be authorized by an employee of Printertechs.com, Inc. Please contact us if you think you need to return an item.

Restrictions:

  • Items must be returned in the same condition that they were sent, without excessive wear and tear.
  • Shipping charges are non-refundable.
  • Special-order items cannot be returned.
  • Restocking fees: A restocking fee may be charged if: (1) items are not returned in the same condition in which they were sent, (2) attempts are made to repair, alter, or modify the product without our approval, (3) cases not involving Printertechs.com error, and (4) the return of non-defective products.
  • Toner cartridges are not returnable if the box has been opened and the seal removed from the toner cartridge. However if the toner cartridge is defective the toner cartridge manufacturer’s warranty procedures apply.
  • Some parts such as new gear assemblies and fuser parts are returnable at our discretion if they have been installed.
  • No refunds after 30 days.

Core Charges


Printertechs.com, Inc. sells many parts on “exchange.” This means we will send you a part at a discounted price and you have 30 days to return your old part. The old part is called a core. Cores are due back 30 days from the invoice date. We do give a two week grace period before core charges are assessed for failing to return the core (45 days past the invoice date). If we receive a core after it has been core charged, a $20 late fee per item will be deducted from the core charge refund. Core charges are not refundable 60 days past the original invoice date. Most items we sell on exchange are also available without an exchange. If you know you will not be returning a core, please order the item without exchange.

For Printers shipped to us or dropped off with us:

Terms of Service Contract:

By dropping off or sending printer or printer related components to us, you are warranting and consenting to the following:

  • Warranty of Ownership or Authorization: By sending us a printer or components, you are warranting that you own the property which you are sending, free of any lien or security interest, and/or that have the authority to send the equipment to us for repairs and the authority to bind the owner of said property to the terms of this service contract.
  • Abandonment of Property/Fees: That your failure to respond to our inquiries about the equipment or parts for a period of 45 days will be deemed an “abandonment of the property,” and we will assume ownership and rights to the property. In the event we sell the property, we will provide written notice of the sale, and if the sale yields a price in excess of any outstanding fees, we will refund that balance to you. All property which is deemed to be abandoned will be subject to both a $25 recycling fee and a $25 inspection fee.
    • Venue/Jurisdiction/Choice of Law: By sending us the printer or component parts, you are consenting that any dispute under this service contract or between you, your employer, your business and Printertechs.com, Inc. will be venued in the Circuit Court of Dane County, located in Madison, Wisconsin, with all issues subject to and resolved under Wisconsin law. You hereby waive any rights to protection under laws of any other nation, state or municipality.
    • Costs of Collection/Attorneys’ Fees: By sending us the printer or component parts, in the event of a legal dispute or nonpayment, as allowed by law and unless otherwise disallowed by law, you agree to pay us the reasonable costs of collection or reasonable attorneys’ fees.
    • Waiver of Jury Trial: By sending us the printer or component parts, you agree to waive any and all rights to a jury trial.
    • Indemnification: If you have misrepresented your ownership of the property, your ability to bind the owner(s) of the property to this contract, or your authority to send us the property, or any matter related to this contract in any way, you agree to fully indemnify us, and reimburse us our costs and damages related to any legal dispute stemming from or related too your misrepresentations, whether the misrepresentation are intentional or merely negligent, including costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees.
